“He came to Nazareth…and, as was his custom, entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day.” (Luke 4:16)
We live to give praise and glory to God. Through worship, and by keeping and celebrating the Seasons of the Church year, we center our spiritual lives on the Church’s liturgy.
ADULT CHOIR: Registered parishioners 18 years of age or older are welcome to join the St. Linus Adult Choir. Rehearsals are held Tuesday from 7:30-10:00 p.m. The choir serves the parish Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Mass between October and May.
ADULT ALTAR SERVERS: Adults who are available to serve for funerals during the week are invited to join.
ALTAR SERVERS: Those who are in the fifth grade or older are eligible to become altar servers.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR: Children in grades 2-6 are invited to join the St. Linus Children’s Choir. Rehearsal times are set seasonally. The choir forms for Christmas and Easter.
DECORATING COMMITTEE: Parishioners who wish to help make St. Linus Church a beautiful worshipping environment are invited to join.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Registered parishioners who have celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation are eligible to become a Eucharistic minister.
HANDBELLS: Substitute ringers are needed. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This handbell choir serves the parish at special liturgies and at one Sunday Mass per month between October and May.
LEADERS OF PRAYER: These are parishioners who are willing to assist with vespers, communion services, devotions, and stations.
LECTORS/COMMENTATORS: Registered parishioners who have celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation are eligible to become a lector/commentator.
LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN: All children ages 4 through fourth grade are invited to take part in a special Liturgy of the Word for children Sundays during the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Children attend Mass with their families and then share their own readings and homily with a catechist. After, the children return to the church for the rest of the Mass.
USHERS: We always welcome parishioners to be ushers for our weekend masses.
WAKE MINISTRY: These parishioners are trained to preside at the vigil service prior to a funeral.
