FOCUS AREAS
SACRAMENTAL Nature of Parish Focus Area - our recommendations are:
1) To initiate a formal “greeting/welcoming” program that would attract and involve new members in parish life.
2) To increase adult faith formation and education offerings that would further immerse both new and existing parishioners in the life of Christ and the parish.
3) To regularly reevaluate our current sacramental, liturgical, devotional and sacramental preparation programs; and
4) To consider programs that reach out specifically to those who have been joined more closely to Christ in the past five years by celebration of one or more of the sacraments during that time.
STRATEGIC Nature of Parish Focus Area - our recommendations are:
1) To establish a viable and enriching youth ministry program.
2) To offer young adult ministry and education programs.
3) To continue our commitment to strong Christian service by addressing human service needs.
SUSTAINABLE Nature of Parish Focus Area - our recommendations are:
1) To initiate a stewardship review to guarantee continued sustainability of the parish.
2) To initiate new efforts at evangelization and education to increase the numbers of families supporting St. Linus Parish.
3) To institute a program of written time and talent commitments to ensure continuation of our ministry and outreach programs.
4) To advance our mission statement that focuses on our call to discipleship and evangelization in living the Gospel and serving our fellow man.
5) To regularly review our financial operations to ensure the efficiency that will allow us to fulfill our mission as a parish.
6) To offer to neighboring areas that currently have no such program, access to our well-established educational system.

SCENARIOS
SACRAMENTAL Nature of Parish Focus Area:
Focus Area: To welcome into the parish new parishioners and to encourage new
and current parishioners to participate more fully in the liturgical, devotional
and sacramental life of the parish.
Scenario One: To establish a welcoming program by which parishioners would visit and formally welcome new members to our parish community, advising
them of programs that may benefit their families and of opportunities to
become involved in the parish to serve others.
Scenario Two: To introduce new members to the parish by publishing their
names and pictures and by scheduling quarterly social gatherings to which
new members would be invited.
Scenario Three: To more effectively communicate the Sacramental nature of
the parish to new and current parishioners through improved communication. This would include pamphlets, bulletin articles, meetings and programs designed to accomplish that goal.
STRATEGIC Nature of Parish Focus Area:
Focus Area: To minister to the youth of the parish – to those 13-18 years old.
Scenario One: To participate in a vicariate-based youth ministry program,
drawing on the talents and experience of other parishes and leaders in the
vicariate to help develop a sound program of ministry to the youth of St.
Linus Parish.
Scenario Two: To join another parish in the area to combine talents and
resources to minister to the youths of both parishes.
Scenario Three: To create a local youth ministry program, using parish talent
or hiring a new person to fill the position to minister to the youth of our
parish.
SUSTAINABLE Nature of Parish Focus Area:
Focus Area: To create and administer an active stewardship review program
that would focus on the time, talent and treasure in our parish community.
Scenario Two: To sponsor an offertory increase program with an accompanying
“time and talent” review to help parishioners understand both their
responsibilities as members of the parish, and the opportunities that exist to
serve and minister to others in the parish.
